PRODUCTION

The shooting period took 10 months (14.02 — 7.12). During this period, material for two full-length films was shot. The first part is planned to be released in December, 2008.

The shooting geography is extremely vast. Having started on February 14 in Moscow, the crew has gone on a long expedition. Virtually all the territory of the Crimea peninsula became the part of the production. Partially shooting also took place in St. Petersburg.

At the main shooting facilities in Moscow and in the Crimea there were built 300 scenery sets which reconstruct in details the material world of the far future on the Saraksh planet, — from the spacecraft and a white submarine to urban alien landscapes of the 22nd century, an abandoned industrial site and a phantasmagoric city of outlaw mutants.

During large-scale exterior shooting, virtually all types of military equipment were used. Most of the airplanes, tanks, armored personnel carriers and vehicles got through tuning, since the designers had elaborated exclusive models of land-based and air equipment for the movie.
